How this guide works
Every current model tagged for this use case is included — nothing is curated out. “Leaders” are computed from manufacturer-published specifications using these criteria:
- Cargo bed capacity (manufacturer-rated)
- Towing capacity (manufacturer-rated)
- Seating capacity
- Factory winch fitment
- Starting MSRP
- Factory camouflage availability
MudSpec has no sponsorships, no affiliate links, and no manufacturer relationships. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure, we say so rather than estimating.

What matters when choosing
The bed is the point
A dump or cargo bed hauls quartered game, treestands, feed, and coolers in one trip — hunting publications weigh bed capacity even more heavily than towing. Bed ratings in this group are manufacturer-published; sort the table by bed capacity if hauling is your main job.
Seats for the crew
The biggest reason hunters choose a side-by-side over an ATV: belted seats for two to six people with a roll cage around them. Crew and MAX variants add a second row; the table lists rated seating for every machine.
Towing for the property
Food-plot implements, sprayers, spreaders, and game carts run off the hitch. Every machine in this group publishes a tow rating — most fall between 1,500 and 2,500 pounds.
Cab comfort extends the season
Enclosed cabs with heat — offered on upper trims of several machines in this group — turn late-season sits and pre-dawn drives from an endurance test into a commute. Check each detail page for cab and HVAC trim availability.
Noise
Quiet operation ranks near the top of every hunting review, but no manufacturer publishes decibel figures, so we cannot rank it honestly. Smaller engines generally run quieter, and electric machines are the quietest option where offered.
Width and access
Machines in this group run roughly 50 to 67 inches wide. Many public lands enforce 50-inch trail limits that exclude most side-by-sides entirely — if your hunting access includes tight trails, verify legal width before anything else, or consider the ATV guide instead.
A winch, camo, and mounts
A winch earns its keep in recovery and game loading; several machines here include one from the factory. Factory camo trims are offered on a subset of this group, and manufacturer accessory systems add gun scabbards, bow mounts, and rack extensions.
Frequently asked questions
How much do hunting UTVs cost in 2026?
Current models in this group start at $8,399 and range up to $51,999 for top trims, across 12 manufacturers.
Do hunting UTVs come with a winch?
21 of the 61 current models include a factory-installed winch as standard equipment. On most others, a winch is available as a factory or dealer accessory.
What engine size is best for hunting UTVs?
Current models in this group range from 443cc to 1498cc. Hunting publications consistently point to mid-size engines as the sweet spot — enough torque for towing and climbing without the cost, weight, and noise of a flagship engine.
Which of these hunting UTVs is the quietest?
Manufacturers do not publish noise figures, so no honest ranking exists. Smaller-displacement machines generally run quieter at low speed, and electric models are the quietest option by nature. Noise matters — it is one of the most-cited factors in hunting vehicle reviews.
How is this guide ranked?
It is not editorially ranked. Leaders are computed from manufacturer-published specifications using the disclosed criteria, and the full table includes every qualifying current model, sortable by whichever spec matters to you. MudSpec has no sponsorships or affiliate relationships.
